Carrillo Connecting rods were founded by Fred Carrillo in 1963. Fred approached the challenges of manufacturing with the idea of no compromise. The design of connecting rods has evolved into a collaboration of skilled specialists. Every connecting rod is a symphony of precision: material specialist, forging precision, production craftsman, design engineers and engine specialists each contribute know-how and artistry.

CP-Carrillo connecting rods are a must have in your 1989-2020 Dodge 5.9L & 6.7L Cummins engine. They are made of a proprietary chrome, nickel, moly, vanadium alloy which meets all VAR (vacuum arc re-melt ASTM standards). The head is validated by an independent metallurgist who confirms the desired physical and chemical properties of the steel. All heat treat processes are done via a mar-aged operation, resulting in UTS of 195,000 with a yield of 182,000 while maintaining the critical elements of low notch sensitivity and ductility.

All CP-Carrillo connecting rods are manufactured from an oversized forging resulting in the proper grainflow, as well as the surface removal of any potential inclusions or surface conversions generated by the forging process. All critical CNC machines are equipped with probing to accurately validate dimensional integrity. In the production process each part is magnafluxed at least twice as well as Rockwell tested to validate the heat treat procedure. A final shotpeen operation completes the part.

This connecting rod set comes with CARR Multiphase bolts, for more extreme conditions.
